CLUB ROAD TRIP
Touring Snowmobiling places of interest in the Eagle River /
St Germain / Manitowish Waters Area
Club members and guests are invited to participate in the
first NEWLBVR "Vintage Road Trip". We will meet in
the parking area at the Beecher Town Park, on the corner of
Hwy 141 and Cty Hwy Z. Vehicles may be left there for the day.
The group will depart from 141 & Z promptly at 8:00 a.m.
You may meet us there and travel with the group or if you
prefer, meet us at our first stop. Either way, I will need a
count to make group dinner arrangements and to let the museums
know how many to expect. Our mode of transportation will
depend on the response we receive from our members thus it is
VERY IMPORTANT that you RSVP no later than May 10th. Please
call Pat or Patti at 715-324-6020 or email vintagepats@yahoo.com
to RSVP. If only a few people respond, we will car pool. If we
get a greater number, we will need time to set up some thing
else. There will be a $10 per person charge to help cover gas
expense or transportation charges. It was agreed that the club
would cover the transportation costs above and beyond that. In
addition, the club agreed to make a small donation in
appreciation to the museums. We are putting this event
together in response to members expressing interest in doing
some club road trips. There are many options for more of these
outings, but that will depend on your participation.
We will leave Beecher at 8:00 a.m. and expect to arrive at our
first stop, the Derby Track and Snowmobile Headquarters
Museum in Eagle River about 10 a.m. The museum is usually
closed at this time of the year, but when I contacted them
they graciously offered to open it just for our visit! The 2nd
stop will be at the Hall of Fame Museum in St. Germain
where the Andersons will warmly welcome our group. They are
looking forward to our visit, but they also asked for a count
so they'll know how many to expect. There will be a midday
stop for lunch at a local eatery. Everyone will be responsible
for the cost of his or her own food and beverages. We will
then proceed to Eliason Hardware in Sayner to view
their display of original Eliason snowmobiles. The final stop
of the day will be at Lance's Small Engine & Repair
near Manitowish Waters. Lance has an extensive indoor display
as well as an outdoor "project and parts sleds"
area. Come on along, invite a friend, and enjoy a day of
vintage history and fun with fellow club members! Everyone is
welcome; we just request that you RSVP no later than May 10th.
We're looking forward to seeing lots of members on May 17th! |
